Over 80 people that took part and 9 found all of the 47 stranger items so well done to the keen eyed entrants. The chamber board then had to decide the winning entry by reading out the tie breaker phrases without age or name mentioned, it was difficult and we thank all entrants, young and old that took part, the winner and runners up are as follows with their catchphrases for I like shopping in Deal because…..
- 1st Ivy White whose older siblings took part and was not as sharp as her wins £70 – “It’s never a dull place to be , when you can shop beside the sea”
- 2nd Jonathan Juniper wins £25 – “I like supporting my local friendly shopkeepers and enjoy living in Deal.”
- 3rd Oliver Barker wins £15 – “After shopping, there is always time for a yummy ice cream”
Congratulations also to The Pet Food Shop and Bee Crafty Bee Happy next to one another on the Strand, Walmer, they won the award for the most original and interesting stranger item, they came up with a the idea of swapping items from each shop! Both shop windows are always well worth a visit for pet supplies and toys and crafting items of all shape and size as well as the other 45 businesses that displayed stranger items!
