“The Miner’s Son” is a nostalgic story of the hopes and dreams of a rock band amidst a bitter conflict in 1984… The current film project in production depicts how a year of industrial action and violent unrest changed the face of a small tight knit community and their way of life forever! A bitterness that is still felt today, and focuses on a bygone industrial past of a Kent town in England.

Some of the characters are based on real people and true events from the day. The findings for this screenplay are fact based and sourced from friends and family who lived through this turbulent time, also this story is based on the memories of one of the writers Kevin Short, who was a guitarist in a local rock band, and struggled to play anywhere or get recognition.
